Shelley Epstein

Shelley Epstein is the newest faculty member of the Temple Sholom Hebrew School. Passionate and devoted to Jewish learning, Ms. Epstein has a broad background in Jewish education, in particular with special needs students. Her own Jewish educational background extended beyond adolescence to comprise attendance at the Hebrew High School of Miami. Ms. Epstein holds a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Florida. While living in Israel, she attended the Advanced Ulpan Bet Ha'Am (Intensive Hebrew Language Course) in Jerusalem, while simultaneously taking courses at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, established in 1906 by Jewish artist and sculptor Boris Schatz, Bezalel is the oldest institution of higher education in Israel, Israel's national school of art. Shelley is fluent in both English and Hebrew.

 

Prior to Temple Sholom, Shelley taught religious educational programs at Temple Ramat Shalom located in Plantation, Florida and at Broward County Judaica High School in Fort Lauderdale. Her involvement in the Jewish Community includes many years of service on community board of directors for the David Posnack Jewish Day School, The Hebrew Free Loan Association of South Florida, and the Jack and Rose Orloff Central Agency for Jewish Education.
